FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

If something is not here, message us and we will answer it the same way.

Does it work on all phones?+

Almost every phone made in the last few years reads NFC. iPhone XS and newer, and most Android phones, open the page with a simple tap, without opening anything first. iPhone 7 to X can use the NFC reader in Control Centre, and any phone can scan the printed QR code.

What if a phone cannot tap?+

Every card has a printed QR code as well. They open the camera, point it at the code, and land on exactly the same page.

Can I change my menu or details later?+

Yes, as often as you like. Sign in at getnfc.co.ke/account and change it yourself, or send it to us. Every card you have already handed out follows it, because the cards point at the page rather than holding a copy of it.

Do I need my own website?+

No. If you do not have one, we host a page for you: KSh 500 a month for professionals. Restaurant menus are KSh 1,000 a month, or KSh 5,000 with table ordering. If you already have a website, your card opens it and you pay for the cards only.

Is the monthly fee charged per card?+

No. One fee covers every card on your account, however many you own. That matters most for restaurants, where a card on every table would otherwise get expensive.

What happens if I stop paying?+

We email you a payment link before the due date. If it stays unpaid five days after that, the page pauses and taps show a paused notice. Pay from the link and it comes straight back. The cards are always yours.

How long does it take?+

Usually a few working days from the moment you approve the proof, depending on how many cards and which material. We give you a date before we start.

Can a card be pointed somewhere new?+

Yes. The chip holds a short address that points back to us, and we decide where it sends people. Changing that takes a moment and needs no new card.

What are the cards made of?+

Plastic, wood or metal. Plastic is the everyday choice and the cheapest, wood is warmer to hand over, and metal is the one people keep on the desk.

Do you deliver outside Nairobi?+

Yes, anywhere in Kenya. Delivery is a one-time KSh 350 within Nairobi (Westlands, Kilimani, Karen, Upper Hill, the CBD and the rest) and KSh 500 outside Nairobi, by courier to Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika and every other town.

Can I pay with M-Pesa?+

Yes. You pay on Paystack's secure page with M-Pesa or a Visa or Mastercard card, and the monthly fee for a page can be paid the same way.

How do I reach you?+

WhatsApp is fastest, on 0117 657 177. Email works too, at hello@getnfc.co.ke.
