Three materials.
The chip inside is the same in all of them. What changes is how the card feels when you hand it over, and what it costs.
Standard price
Plastic
Rigid PVC, the same stock as a bank card. Full colour printing, so a logo and photo come out properly. This is the everyday choice and the one most people should start with.

Wooden
Warmer in the hand and quieter to look at. Laser marked rather than printed, so the design is one colour and simpler by nature. Grain differs card to card, which people tend to like.

Metallic
The heaviest of the three and the one that gets a reaction. Laser engraved. Slower to produce and the least forgiving of a busy design, so keep the layout simple.
Best for a first impressionLooking after them
- They never need charging. There is no battery inside.
- Water will not hurt them. A wipe with a damp cloth is fine.
- Bending a card hard enough can break the aerial inside it. Do not fold one.
- Heat is the other risk. Do not leave one on a dashboard all afternoon.
- If a chip fails in normal use, tell us and we replace the card.
Which should I pick?
If you are putting a card on every table, plastic, without hesitating. If it is your own card and you hand it to a handful of people a week, wood or metal is worth the difference. If you are ordering more than twenty for staff, plastic keeps the total sensible.
Not sure? Order one of each and decide with them in your hand.
